I was just listening to Podcast 28 again Music in Spain. Me gustó mucho. I was wondering what songs should I know from Spain? I'm an American. Everyone knows like Yankee Doodle Dandy, Somewhere Over the Rainbow or New York New York . What are some classics from Spain or other Spanish speaking countries. If this was mentioned in another thread lo siento can someone please leave a link to it.

Hi,
Can I suggest Paco de Lucia's 'Entre Dos Aguas', just because it's probably one of the most famous flamenco tunes. (I didn't say the best, or newest, fastest, etc. Just that it's well known)
From other Spanish speaking countries how about this from Argentina:
Carlos Gardel singing 'Por una cabeza'

This was ridiculously big when I arrived in Spain just over a year ago. Still gets played loads and will probably end up being one of those songs that everyone knows forever. It's very catchy ;D

Then there is this one:

It's not new by any means, but it always seems to get played at parties. And everyone gets up to dance. (Even me, which is not a pretty sight!)
