Sorry to start a new thread with this but I've just seen this in a UK gossipy magazine (I honestly don't read these, but I saw 'Barcelona' and it caught my eye;) ).
I genuinely think whoever wrote this piece for the hotel did a very good job:
"The sultry, spacious and sumptiously sexy Hotel Neri is housed in an 18th century palace in a back street of Barri Gótic, the city's beguiling Gothic quarter. The interior is contemporary, with a cool, retro-Gothic twist - plasma TV screens are juxtaposed with marble floors and panelled ceilings with wrought iron."
I'll stop there because I know you already want to go without me repeating the rest of the piece. Retro-Gothic, whatever next?
It is expensive but if the photos are anything to go by, and you are rich or have a special occasion to celebrate, it looks worth it.

... and if you're not rich and want to spend a week in Barça for the same price this is where I stay... 10 mins walk from Las Ramblas 100 yards from Paral-lel Metro Station and very handy for the Palau St Jordi if you are going to a gig...
twin room ensuite and very clean for €55 per night
thats £38 (£19 per Person)
$68 US

- Not at all - the TVs are not plasma either but the floors are marble-ish
Have checked out the Neri online and without trying I can get a twin for £140 - still alot but the UK travel industry seems to have done its usual trick of quoting Euro Prices in GB£ just to give themselves a small profit..!
The Neri website is as pretentious as the article!!! Check out the music - brings to mind Lenny Henry in his leather codpiece doing his Theo T Wildebeast act
( if your not a Brit of a certain age ignore the Lenny Henry reference)

It's a great website, the music really sets the mood. I thinks it is really alluring and I liked the write up (seriously I did).
I can see myself there on a romantic break; no children around, just me and my wife, she's on the bed wearing a risque polyester number, I'm standing there with my big fat face sunburnt from sitting too long on the sun-deck. A romantic film is playing on the plasma TV (something like Die Hard 2). I'm holding a bottle of chilled asti-spumante in one hand and a huge cigar in the other. My gut is hanging over my leopard pattern Y-fronts and I'm looking for lurv.
Nice dream, will have to start saving though.

Beware - your tongue will pop right through your cheek if you dont stop it!!

Lol, this thread is going downhill really fast. The thought of anyone with barriga colgando in a leopard-tard is just beyond anything I'd care to see or think of.
190 Euros is a bit pricey for me, I'm afraid.
