This is especially for Marina and for the other Spanish people on this forum.

Every summer, millions of tourists from the north descend upon Spain's beaches to soak up the sun and to have some fun. Many of them are from the U.K., from Germany and from Holland. I have always wanted to know what the Spanish people think about these tourists, and which stereotypes are the most popular: the socks and sandals and the beer bellies of the Germans and the Dutch or the skin color of the British? What do you think of our habits, our food preferences and our behavior? Do you prefer the tourists who come to see the 'real' Spain?

Tell us what you think, tell us your tourist jokes and anecdotes - anything, no holds barred! ;D

I can't answer Edith directly, but my wife (who grew up in Valencia) just can't believe that the Germans, Danes, and Norwegians come down to swim in the Mediterranean in November and such! Brrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr!

Don't worry, I'm not that strict! :D

Did you know that in countries like Russia and Finland, people will even smash the winter ice so they can take a dip! Brrrr, not my up of tea at all. I like the sun and for me, 25-30 degrees Centigrade (dry heat) are heaven on earth.

And is pneumonia a problem in those countries? ;D

Seriously, I'm a little too thick-blooded to try that.

Hi Edith,

When I read your post I thought we could make a NIS podcast of your questions, that's why I haven't answered them here.

It's already recorded, so hopefully it will be released in three days or so when the transcript and exercises are completed.

Marina.
