my family went to Barcelona and we enjoyed our stay there. And we want to go back to Spain to visit Barcelona again and another place in Spain. Can you recommend a different place than Barcelona where my kids would enjoy? My kids are 8 and 5 years old.

San Sebastein in the North or Pico`s de Europa also in the north. Ofcourse Madrid, the Warner Bros Park or Selwo Safari type park, which allows you to stay over night in the park in African mud huts, giving you access to some areas of the park in the evening/night time without the daytime crowds. Its very odd being the only people around the zoo animals in the evening, worth every cent.

I LOVED San Sebastian. It and Madrid were my two favorite cities so I would definitely recommend San Sebastian also.
I don't know how much drive time you want, but since Barcelona is a fairly large city, maybe you would like a smaller, quieter town to experience the difference? Another favorite of mine was Santo Domingo de Silos, a tiny village about 200km north of Madrid, very close to Burgos. It has a monastery there that is famous for its chanting monks which was interesting to go see and hear. I know they have a hostel there, and I think a hotel as well.

Madrid is about a three-four hour train trip from Barcelona, there`s plenty of budget accomodation and getting around the city is very easy.
