I'm going to be in Spain in the end of March and just have a few questions I was wondering if anyone could answer.
-What is the cheapest/easiest way to call home(USA)?
-Will there be any special things going on for Easter that I should be aware of?

Can't help with the phone call question, but google Semana Santa to find out what happens in many Spanish towns and cities at Easter.

I'm not sure about Easter, but I used an EF Phone Card when I was in Spain and was EXTREMELY easy. I never had any trouble.

Check out esmadrid.com (http://www.esmadrid.com/en/portal.do) nearer the time for info on Semana Santa in Madrid. Not much happens in Madrid during Semana Santa - just a few processions compared to the amazing things happening down south - but it is a lovely time to be in town as the city tends to be very quiet, and the weather is usually great.
Valencia may be more impressive in terms of the religious processions, but to be honest I don't know.

If you're in Valencia at Easter, a few days afterwards begins Fallas, which is nothing short of spectacular.
As far as cheap communication to the US, bring your laptop and use Skype!

You might find some useful info in this Valencian search (http://www.trobat.com/)site. Be warned much of it is in Valencian but with enough Castellano you should make it out.
Also this tourist information (http://www.comunitatvalenciana.com/agenda1.htm) site might help - although it's not the easiest in the world to use.
Enjoy your trip.

Hi Catalina,
'Fallas' ( a spectacular Fiesta) and Easter parades will be running in the same period this year as Easter is early. We saw the Fallas in Denia last year and and my word what a brilliant time we had - its a pity more visitors don't know about it as it's most certainly well worth making a holiday around it.
We're going out to Denia in a few weeks time, love going more and more each visit but always trying to find out something new everytime - anyone got any experience with this area?
Jackie
Ps. new girl to forum's!

You'll just miss Fallas then. Semana Santa is pretty low key in Valencia but there are some parades in the port area, they are quite light hearted compared to the heavy mood of those in the south.
