Yup, there are some of these that we wonder whether we should release or not (we always have in the past...), but is this one just too rambling?

It was really good, thanks for that!

We like Gandia and it has always amazed and delighted us that the resort hasn't been 'captured' by foreign tourism. Why is that I wonder?

There used to be a McDonalds in my favourite Logroño spot but the last time we were there a few months ago it was gone! The council had made them shift to a drive-in outside the city. So there is some hope, however tiny, that good sense (and taste) will prevail.

I want to know why the police don't arrest the guys selling the fake goods? If you had a shop in Gandia selling legitimate designer handags or sunglasses, wouldn't you be really upset to know that these people are selling fakes at a fraction of the cost? I know they have to eat, and it is interesting to hear that they are now earning so much money that they can afford to sit at the next table in restaurants, but what they are doing is illegal.

Oh well, I'm off to buggerking for lunch now, thanks again for the podcast.

Enjoyed the Gandia ramble.
I have a Vidal supermarket about 100m away and they do offer a lot of cheap stuff, hardware, electrical and grocery. They have a suprisingly good bakery and cafe section attached - best guisante y cebolla empanadillas round here according to my wife.
Pego, with some 10,000 inhabitants also has 2 Chinese/Asian emporiums (-a?) that seem to be replacing the mostly spanish "todo 100" shops (100 from the days of the peseta). A lot of the stock is poor quality, but for a rubbish bag or plastic kitchen accessory it often does not matter too much. They do offer a lot of different items under one roof and have forced the supermarkets and other shops to offer similarly priced goods.
Spain still has wonderful hardware shops with counter staff who can find anything for anything - new lock for the mail box, no problem! Last time I saw one of those in the UK was a good few years ago, pre-B&Q days.

Rambling at times is the charm to Notes from Spain.

I was always told that the subsaharianos kept their wares on a blanket so that in case of an emergency, they could grab each corner of the blanket quickly and make a getaway with their wares. ¿Verdad o falso?

Your ramble is welcomed as you two do your best when podcasting on the fly when out and about. I enjoyed this one on Gandia as well. What did you eat while at Gandia? Did you cool off with any horchata?

"Bugger King." I love it, Ben! They should rename it to that here in the States

True I think. I saw one lad had ropes tied to each corner and they were laid across the blanket to grab and speed up his getaway. Should have had the camera!

Should have had the camera!

Indeed!

Marina sounded a bit self-satisfied in England's football defeat to me. ;)
