"Gabo", perhaps one of the best writers currently in the Spanish language is seriously ill with lymphatic cancer and has posted a farewell to all his friends and fans via Internet. Gabo's (final?) words are accompanied by a slide show of outstanding photos of Paris and a soundtrack of an Azvanour song.

Enjoy this sad farewell.

Problem= I received the file via email and can't seem to copy the attachment to NiS, probably because the .zip file is 3.3Mb. Any suggestions?

That text is an hoax.

I even saw him in TV very angry about someone trying to impersonate a text (quite dull, whiny and full of cliches) not to be expected from such a writer of his mastery.

I don´t know if Gabo is terminally ill (I hope he can still delight his readers with additional work) but I would be very worried if that text was truly his.

His last writing, as for today, is 'Memorias de Mis Putas Tristes' (Memories of My Melancholy Whores) from 2004. A short novel in which an retired old journalist who is only awaiting death, finds the love of his life in a young child who sells her virginity to help her family.

After that, no one could expect him to write that other prudish sentimental childish farewell poem.

He was diagnosed with cancer a couple of years ago, but that's all I know. The fact that someone decided to turn this into an Internet 'joke' is beyond me. >:D
