Slight confusion

Tengo que escribir un trabajo para un programa de intercambio (en Chile!) antes de que llegue. En mi ensayito, quiero asegurarme de que entiendo lo que pide la pregunta. Dice..

Escribe un texto (alrededor de 100 palabras) respecto a:
a) Tu vida después de terminar el colegio.
b) Tu ingreso a la universidad.
c) Tus expectativas de este viaje a Chile.

¿Qué significa 'colegio' aquí? ¿College, high school? También, ¿qué quieres que yo diga sobre mi ingreso? significa 'entrance' ¿verdad? Me parece rara si leo así

Además, necesito escribir un CV en español. Hay algunas palabras que se deben usar, que son comunes en este tipo de escritura?

Thanks for your responses so far. I had a few vocab questions now (I'm writing my résumé now):

- Bachelor's degree?
- Major/minor (academically speaking)? -- I know there's no direct translation, but what would be suitable?
- Crap, i know I have more but I've forgotten them. I'll get back to you but in the mean time, finding these out would help a lot. Thanks!!

Not sure of that. At least in Spain, "colegio" just means, like "school". "¿Qué tal el cole?" being something a parent might say to a child returning from
elementary school. If this were a Spanish context I would guess it meant education up to age 18 (primary, obligatory secondary to 16, optional secondary to 18)

But usage in Chile might be closer to North American.

High school yo siempre lo traduzco como Instituto

School como colegio o escuela

College como facultad (como Facultad de Medicina que sería College of Medecine at the University of...)

University como universidad
