I am interested to know if Alfajores are as popular in as they were 500 years ago. Are they widely available?

I once ate one 40cm in diameter. This makes me better than other people.

You can get them in a couple of Argentinian shops near our house. I love the dulce de leche ones!!!

Well, I don't really know about the rest of Spain but I can tell that my parents are from Lorca (Murcia) and in this city they're very popular. There they are known as Christmas sweets. My grandparents were really determined to follow that tradition so that now my mother, uncle and aunts are still making them for Christmas. The most popular ones (in that city) are cilindrical shaped wrapped with papers of different colours. You've probably never seen them. By the way, tomorrow will be the preparation day... Would you like to taste them? XD
