Listen here (http://www.notesfromspain.com/2008/05/05/when-spanish-women-wax-notes-from-spain-podcast-70/)

Lots to talk about from today's podcast, but perhaps the most interesting point is whether or not the appointment of Carme Chacón, the new Defense minister, and her fellow ministras (http://www.independent.ie/world-news/europe/why-women-now-reign-in-spain-1349453.html), will have a lasting impact on Spanish socitety. What do you think?

This is a great step for Spain but it's important for the new minister to be extra careful about her actions because she's representing the future of women in her position. I've always wondered about parliamentary style systems because the ministers have to be picked from the MPs and not outside the government........I can't imagine having a defense secretary that is also a Representative in this country.

My friend from Valencia hates her but I think Zapatero is doing one right thing - promoting women's rights. I just wish I knew what's going to happen after she has the baby.... were you guys right, is she being treated specially/differently? When is she due?
