"Estoy casado/a". Which is odd because if you're single it's "soy soltero/a"!

I'm always confusing that too! Another kinda strange one for me is: está muerta, as if they could come back from the dead... head scratcher, but I love it! :)

Both still make sense using ESTAR considering they are both states of being that have changed. To me it's "soy soltero" that's the strange one.

Also "ser infiel" seems strange. To me it implies that by cheating on your partner you are in some way permanently changed into being an unfaithful person.

May be being married is a change of status whereas being single you are always going to be the same until you're married which would change your status from ser to estar if you get my drift.
