Apart from the Spanis English dictionary lots of the apps I have for my iPhone are really gimmicks. The rotary dialer is funny but not much use, the list app lets me keep a shopping list, I can play Othello or use the screen as a lamp to find the keyhole when returning home in my cups on a thursday.
The Air Sharing app that I loaded last week lets you connect from any wireless enabled computer and mount the iPhone as a wireless drive. You can then transfer files into the file hierarchy that the app sets up.
The app lets you view most documents - ,doc, .xls, .ppt, pdf, jpg, txt etc
Why so useful - well for instance I now have a map of the BCN meto on my phone so I dont need the iritating paper version, plus - cos I never carry my glasses - I can zoom the thing in so I can see it. It plays mp3s too should I need it to.
Works as a full featured web server so you can connect to it via a browser on the fly
