Luego ya

En varios podcasts Marina ha usado la frase 'luego ya'. Ya sé que luego significa algo como más tarde o despues, pero ¿hay una diferencia entre 'luego ya' y sólo 'luego'? Gracias por la ayuda.

On it's own "luego ya" means nothing to me , although "ya" is often used to give emphasis to a statement like... " ya veremos"(we´ll see) ,sometimes as an answer like "ya" (yea sure) and sometimes in statements like " no he trabajado allí desde hace YA 3 años"(I havent worked there for 3 years. the "ya" gives emphasis to the "3 years" ).It isnt always grammatically necesary but is often employed by native speakers.

here are some examples of how "luego ya" could be used...

luego ya comprendí la situación = after that I understood the situation

luego ya hablaremos = we will talk later

luego ya puede pedir perdón, que no le perdonaré= he may/might ask for forgiveness later ,but I wont forgive him

Thanks. that answers my question perfectly. I will have to try and find it. I just went on a bit of a NIS binge and listened to almost half of the advanced podcasts while cleaning my apartment, so I don't remember exactly which episode it's from. But for some reason it stuck in my head.
