Just a bit of news! We have added a new section at the top of the forums, the Warm up area, where hopefully new members will drop in and say hello. This is something I have seen on other forums and I think is a great way to welcome new members - If you are a new member please do drop in there (http://www.notesfromspain.com/forums/forumdisplay.php?f=29) and say hi!

We have also added a newsletter subscription form to the left hand column of the NFS home page (http://www.notesfromspain.com). Hopefully we will send out a newsletter once a month with details of what's new at NFS, upcoming highlights, competitions etc. At the beginning of September there should be big news of changes to Notes in Spanish (all good, don't worry!) Please feel free to subsribe, and do let us know if you have any ideas for what you'd like to see in an NFS newsletter!

Very nice additions! Thank you!

<tongue in cheek>Maybe you should call the "Warm Up Area" the "Bull Pen," which is American expression for the area where pitchers warm up in baseball.</tongue in cheek>

Or maybe not. References to bulls around here make things exciting. ;D

Not sure where to put this. But it's about the forum.

Someone kindly sent me a private message, my only one(!), which I have read. Yet the part of the header that shows private messages still tells me it is unread. Is there a problem??

That is very wierd Richard, I just tested it and all works fine for me, the messages become read once read. You may have to delete the message in question or try doing a hard-refresh with your browser (ctrl+f5). Ben

I don't know what Richardska was up to but I find the use of the back screen key/mouse click makes changes to "posts read", "mails read" etc go awry.
For others finding apparent inconsistencies in the forum behaviour I suggest navigating via the blue header to "forum home" or work backwards by clicking on the tree structure above that.

As you learn by making mistakes I'm getting quite good at this! ;D
