...comes to Spain's major cities (http://www.abc.es/20081028/vivir-ocio-gadgets/google-permite-desde-pasear-200810281429.html). (Part of Google Maps)
"La Castellana o la Catedral de Sevilla
El navegante puede hacer un recorrido virtual de 360 grados por las Rambas de Barcelona, el Paseo de la Castellana o los aledaņos de la Catedral de Sevilla y de la Ciudad de las Artes y las Ciencias de Valencia.
El servicio permite ver la calle donde se ubica un restaurante, planificar viajes, organizar puntos de encuentro o simplemente explorar una ciudad para conocerla mejor. "

whilst on the subject, seems that google street view should soon be supported on the iPhone and iPod Touch but more more importantly they released google earth for the iPhone (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=v6BPuKaLel4) over the weekend. A free download from Apple app store if you are into that sort of thing....

LasProvincias has an article (http://www.lasprovincias.es/valencia/20081029/mas-actualidad/tecnologia/google-lanza-street-view-200810290747.html) about it in Valencia with a video (short advert at front of it)

Yes it's really cool to virtually walk through your streets, being able to actually walk forward and back, look up and down, right and left, focus in and out, make a turn in that street and so on.
It almost feels like you could enter your regular bar round the corner for a beer !!!.
I was surprised to see that at the moment only a few countries provide that feature : the US, Australia, Japan, France and Spain.
What's with the rest of Europe? Is Google subjected to countries' authorizations for this 'Street View' feature.
I've noticed that they blur people's faces in the street, otherwise they could be invading people's privacy, but then again, if they are in the streets then they could be taken pictures without permision, no?

Might be good publicity the first time they figured in a divorce case though ;D

I think it's great! I've just re-visited the GME locations and saw some familiar sights :)

A few days ago I actually saw the Google car driving around the Campillos roundabout in Ronda, it's a very strange looking car. Well, the car looks normal, but the roof has a stalk on it with cameras pointing in all directions. They also have their logo on the door of the car so you can understand why so many 'candid' photos get taken, if you can see the car coming you'd have a few seconds to strike a pose.

I see (http://www.nextechnews.com/content/binary/IntroducingtheRealGoogleStreetMapscar_13DAF/gst.jpg)! What I find interesting is that I found many images of the streets I played on when I lived in Valencia but none of the Washington DC area. There are many though of my original home, New York City.
