Unusually for August the news desks must have been kept busy this year. But here's one for the silly season. An academic is claiming that cows have different 'moos' depending on which herd they come from. Full story and cow sounds here (http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/uk/5277090.stm). Cows can actually 'mimic' the sound of the farmer's voice so a Somerset cow will sound different to a Geordie one;) .
I wonder if this theory crosses countries, so a Spanish cow sounds different to an English cow?
Spanish animals make different sounds don't they? In English a cockerel goes, "cock-a-doodle-doo", and in Spanish they go, "ki-ki-ri-ki". And the duck in English, "quack-quack", in Spanish, "cua-cua".
Any others?
