I'm new here, hope this isn't something you've all seen and discussed in the past.....

Here's a link that you might enjoy, showing Torremolinos back in the 60's and 70's when it was the place to be. This is why I first came to Spain in '74 with 3 other guys from California. We met some lovely young Spanish girls, they came to meet us every day in the Bar El Toro. We thought they really liked us, 30 years later I found out they were just doing an undercover intercambio! One of my friends is now married to one of those girls; she operates a family hotel on the beach in Carihuela where we visit frequently. Torremolinos isn't so trend-setting and glamorous these days, but I still enjoy the temporary insanity, the low-cost beach town tackiness and the great mixture of visitors and residents. And it's just a short drive into the hills to find "the real Spain".
