Hi there... hola!
spanish girl, just came back to Madrid after a few years living abroad... and still trying to find my place in my own city !?
it's strange cause I got so used to hanging out with people from other countries that it's hard to be all the time with just spaniards ..which is my case most of the time.
I'm sure there are lots of foreigners hiding in Madrid.. perhaps you can tell me where they are! :-)
I'm a novata here, don't really know much about this website... but looks very interesting. Saw this "nice place for new members to say hello" and thought was a good way to introduce my self !

Hi Nadia, and welcome!
Just curious: where have you been living all this time before returning to Spain?

Hi Edith,
Thanks!
I see you're in Paises Bajos.. I was no very far away from you, in Brussels. It was a temporary thing to improve my languages and all that.. but liked the international atmosphere there..then got a job.
3 years later finally got sent back to Spain.. I was missing here a bit !
And now it's great that I 'm back, but still a bit lost as I said.
what about, you what are you doing in Paises Bajos?

Hi Nadia,
Yes, I'm Dutch and I live near the city of Utrecht in the center of Holland, but I have also spent some time abroad, e.g. in the US (Arizona). English is my second language and I'm trying very hard to learn Spanish! :-) My grammar level is intermediate, my reading level advanced/intermediate.
Looks like I will be going to Tenerife in two months' time to attend a Spanish language course there, and I'm really looking forward to it! At first, I wanted to go to Mexico (Yucatán) but I injured my knee in the summer and the ten-our translatlantic flight didn't appeal to me any more after that. Ah well, there will probably be another chance to go to Mexico and I love the Canary Islands too (last year, I visited Gran Canaria). The climate is so great there - my dream is to spend the winters on one of these islands after my retirement! I just put some more pics from that trip on the Notes From Spain Flickr site (look for Tetabiakti).
