Anyone got Intrepid yet. Is it worth upgrading?

I use Intrepid.

The network manager is improved and there is out of the box dual screen support. Apparently Suspend and Hibernate support is improved.
If you use Google Earth, you may experience problems if you have Compiz effects turned on.

I've got it, very nice after I worked out how to do the upgrade.
I originally tried downloading it direct, but most of the linux downloads are .iso images when I tried to convert it with brasero I got a set up that was all text and blue screens ...and stuff. I'm not sure of how to convert these images to a fully working cd?

.iso's are for burning to blank CDs.

After I burn it I seem just to get a copy of the image rather than a fully functioning program.

You have to be careful not to burn the file to disk, but to burn the image to disk. Two separate options.
