 Hi...

My wife and I are off on our travels to Andalucia in a weeks time and I was wondering if anyone would like to share there thoughts on any favorite places or experiences there (...ja ja ja.....keep it clean please).

Anything about Sevilla, Huelva, Jerez or Ronda would be appreciated as thats the route we are taking .... en coche para dos semanas de viajar con 47 podcasts de Ben y Marina en el Ipod!

Muchas gracias tios...

My wife and I have been to Sevilla several times. If you like Flamenco, you might want to look up 'Casa de la Memoria'. As opposed to the tablaos that are promoted in most touristy locales, this is a place where the performers are up-and-comers, students and young professionals. We'd never have known ourselves, though, had that fact not been pointed out to us.

Compare these (http://www.rodrig.com/gallery/v/travel/album07/spain2002/dscf022.jpg.html) pics (http://www.rodrig.com/gallery/v/travel/album07/spain2002/dscf039.jpg.html), to these.... (http://www.tablaoelarenal.com/TablaoIngles.htm)

If the small, homey atmosphere appeals to you then you'll defenitely want to check it out. We've not been to any of the others, they just seem a bit too touristy for our taste.

(http://www.tablaoelarenal.com/TablaoIngles.htm)If you ask at a hotel or some other such place, and they don't know where it is, ask again somewhere else! They may try and steer you toward one of the larger, well-known tablaos (such as El Arenal, linked above). I believe it can be found in the Santa Cruz district, at Calle Ximénez de Enciso, 28.

My wife and I were there a bit more than a month ago and there is a ton of construction happening right now. In fact, all of la Avenida de La Constitucion is shut down, as in totally. It threw us way off as we were trying to make our way, by car, into the city. Thought you might want to be aware....

Oh, also.....If you find yourself in Cordoba....ask around the Alhambra for los Banos Arabes (http://www.hammamspain.com/cordoba/). It was verrrry relaxing and well worth the money. They do force everyone to don shower caps while in the baths, though. It struck us as odd at first, but we quickly got over it.

have fun!
