Mine just has to be a very tiny one in Puerto De Santiago in Tenerife. I can't remember the name, but you walk in from the busy road, and it is a long, dark bar about 30 metres long with an open balcony at the end, fairly high up, which overlooks a tiny beach and the rocks. Its heaven to quaff a cold Dorada on this balcony. I have a picture I took from it in September and I'll post it soon so if anyone recognizes the bar and can name it, I would be grateful. Whats your favourite beach side retreat?
As promised, a pic of the bar menioned above, well the best pic I have anyway. This was taken from the balcony of the bar. It overlooks Puerto De Santiago/Los Gigantes to the right of the pic. Below the balcony, some 25 metres if I remember correctly, is a tiny beach and rocks, and out to sea to the left, not in view in the picture, is the island of La Gomera. How inviting does that Dorada look?

That is very lucky because a friend has invited me for the weekend to her brother's house in Tenerif in two weeks time, so I'll try to go there. Any more suggestions???

For anyone who may be interested, the location of the said bar in Puerto De Santiago can be found by typing these co-ordinates into Google Earth search box and it will fly you there. Just copy and paste them exactly as they appear here below.

Andrin beach in Asturias, near Llanes, has a little bar/sidreria perched half-way up the fern-covered cliff, overlooking the crystal clear Cantrabrian sea. Heaven.
