Just wanted to reach out to any friends with experience living in Spain. I am trying to relocate for graduate school in 6 months. I always wanted to study in Barcelona because my background is in Spanish/Latin American/American art. I am from Austin, Texas originally where I worked for a large university museum specializing in Spanish/Latin American art. I speak Mexican Spanish and my grammar is my strong suit, however I am out of practice. Thanks in advance for introducing yourself and telling me about your experiences in Spain.

Hi, I was wondering if anyone could give me any advice. I am (or soon will be) working for the University here in Murcia and although I have been doing this job for one year already and love the job, the money is not great. I only work part and have to supplement my income with private lessons.
The thing is I have recently qualified with a masters in translation and hoped that this would help me to earn more money but at the moment I am struggling to find work as I only have the experience of translation through my university work.
In addition, given that I have a large amount of student debt from the degree and the masters I need to start looking for a more permanent job which would allow me to start reducing these debts, but have no idea where to start. Are there employment agencies in Spain (like in the UK) that can help? Are there websites advertising work for native English speakers? Anyone have any advice, specifically for here in Murcia?
Any advice or help would be much appreciated.
Thanks!

I think, the best way to learn a language is often to have to talk with many people.

If we would make a group, for example, 10 Spanish people and ten English, perhaps it will be to start at first we a little group and then the group will dicide how many people will be.

if we would open a 'new' count (address), a exclusive count for that on gmail, say, when someone won't want to continue in a group he won't have any problem because he didn't exhibit your main address.

Thereby we can chat with other members of the group very often and practising 'our' languages. it won't depend of timetable, therefore you often can find someone and chat or talk with them.

Native people learn their language often talk with other people and they didn't have a stress or a traumatic psychological experience.
This message don't try to be a rule we will dicide about rules after.

If many people want participate We also may do more groups.

At first I may try to organice it so, you can send a Private Message.

I am looking forward to hearing from you.

Pero en realidad no es igual.
My name is Oscar and I am from London, England. I have been learning Spanish over the summer and am really enthusiastic to continue my learning and improve on my Spanish skills. I came across the NIS podcasts about a month ago and since then have been listening to the Inspired Beginners series. Over a week ago, I discovered this forum and having been reading a bit on different threads I have realised how incredibly useful this forum is for everyone. I'm loving this place! ;D

So there you go, just wanted to say hello to everyone. Would love to have an intercambio with anyone here so if anyone is interested, please let me know!

I look forward to participating in lively Spanish threads and conversations with you all!
