Murky waters

I need a good word for 'murky'

As in 'For private groups on the internet all this stuff about data protection is all very murky.

sucio is not really it. Possibly tenebroso ???? Any ideas

Cheers

When you say 'all this stuff about data protection is all very murky', do you say that it is 'suspicious'?

there´s oscuro , which, like "murky", can have both the connotation of "unclear" and "dangerous, uncertain, sinister." If you really mean only "unclear" you could use incierto or poco claro. tenebroso is more the scary, sinister kind of dark than merely the unclear kind.

"Turbio" is an adjective that can be applied both to waters - agua turbia = murky waters - and to a nything unclear, dubious, suspicious... - un asunto turbio

Thanks guys.

Yes I'm looking for murky as in sinister, dangerous, hidden traps, incomplete, unhelpful

I think I'll go with turbio and hold tenebroso in reserve.

:thumbs-up:
