Default What is a better time to be in Spain Mid-May or Late Sept

I have two possiblities as far as getting vacation time from work. I can get about 2 1/2 weeks Max.

The times are starting approx May 17 finishing June 4th

Or Sept 20th to Oct 8th

Or there abouts.

Ben, Marina and others living in Madrid and Spain what would be the pluses and minus of these two times.

Any thoughts or advice is appreciated (opps most are out this weekend)

In my experience in Andalusia, both are fantastic times of the year, possibly the best times to be there. But with May you don't have to wait so long...

I agree the south is great both times - if you are going to the north - Costas Brava, Maresme, Dorada, I would probably go in May

Argh,

Now the times have changed again. Work related events.

It looks like it would have to be late April (last week) or early June or the Late Sept timeframe.

My first ever visit to Madrid (Was it really only two years ago? Spain is now so much part of my life) was in May and I immediately fell in love with the place. Maybe it's the springtime that promises so much. The autumn (fall) is pleasent, but for me May in Madrid will always be magical.

We've had lotsa rain recently - now sun has returned, sky is blue, spring flowers are blooming - get here as soon as possible.

Have a wonderful trip

Same advice - if you want the weather and the seaside go south April, June or sept Northern costas likely to be cooler in April Great in June and unreliable in Sept - 50/50 chance I'll chuck it down in late Sept

For something a little different why don´t you consider visiting one or more of the many wineries in Castilla La Mancha ? See details here http://www.rutasdevino.com/enoturismo/manchabodegas.htm
of some of the wineries that can be visited. Several are in the Toledo area and could be combined with a visit to Toledo city.
