As some of you may have read I will be moving to Spain in August. I have resigned myself to not finding paid work, and so have organised to complete a degree through distance ed while in Spain.
However, i hate the idea of living in Spain without a purposeful job to do. In Australia I work on the business side of a charity, and really enjoy the "do-good" factor. Do you think i would have many issues finding volunteer work teaching english in some of the smaller/rural schools? I dont want to be condescending by assuming that as a westener (im an Aussie) my lifestyle and language are infinitely superior, and impose it on others! Although if you are familiar with the Aussie accent you will know there is nothing beautiful about it! I have tried to find volunteer oportunities online, but assume they are all on Spanish sites because i cant find any! Thanks in advance for any advice! |
