Thanks, everyone, for the history lessons, but I sort of regret making my original joke...
FOR THE RECORD, A) I know Americans are fat, and anyone can make as much fun of them as they want (but not to their face, because that's kind of mean, and you might end up with a bloody nose) B) No one country saved any other country in World War 2, it was a joint effort as others have more eloquently and specifically pointed out. I was making a joke about Americans who walk around saying, "We saved your ass in World War 2!" C) I hope there is not a World War 3 for us to worry about who will save who! D) You can pretty much assume that everything I say is a joke or sarcasm, and yes, I know, that can get annoying. E) Wasn't this a conversation about photography? How did we end up talking about the economic fallout of World War 2? Funny how that goes. |

'Days of Glory'
that was the english name of that film. Indigenes in French. I don't think they were legionaires. They were Algerians under French rule at the time so they were French citizens but looked down upon. It's a great movie. http://imdb.com/title/tt0444182/ |

You'll need ultra wide angle photography to capture my smile at the moment.
