"La duda ofende"

I heard this expression today and am at a loss to guess why doubt should offend. Can anyone shed any light on this refrain? Thanks in advance.

Interesting one! I think it's something along the lines of "i'm offended by your lack of faith/how can you be questioning or doubting me?!"

Not entirely sure though...

Perhaps the context would explain it, but I'd say "the question offends"

That's exactly the meaning in spite of the context. There is no way you can question me on that, just like ashalita points, and that offends me.
