A football thread - excellent. I'm registering now! Congrats to Mallorca on reaching the "octavos" of the Copa tonight, and see you all soon.

I may not have posted much here recently, but I've still been reading regularly and am also sorry to see the forum close.

The two GMEs that I attended were great experiences, and allowed me to see parts of Madrid that probably would not have ever known about without Ben and Marina.

Let's hope that we all meet up again somewhere again soon.

Thank you so much Ben and Marina. Actually this comes at the perfect time because I've decided I've had enough castellano and shall move on to studying galego now!

Dos besos.

Ah, man! I am truly gutted!

I was going to say thanks to the folks who helped with my oral question in the Beginners section, so I will say that now. Thanks!

Cheers, Ben and Marina for the hardwork. I browsed these forums regular before joining. It was a great source for learning Spanish.

¡Adiós todos!

Default My Last Post: Interpreter Errors in Argentina

'Ello everyone.

The November 12, 2010 episode of the news program Democracy Now! was broadcast from Argentina. This show includes an interview, via interpreter, with a man whose parents were disapeared in Argentina shortly after his birth. The host of the show conducts the interview through an interpreter. If you listen closely, you'll catch a number of major errors committed by the interpreter.

How many mistakes can you spot?

The segment starts at about 30 minutes 23 seconds.

Default Au revoir

thought the forum as it bobs gently to a close should have some French.

I was certain it was now archive only.

Bye bye

Yes, it's hard to keep away, isn't it ?
Even though we're already busy over at espengforo.freeforums.org, 'the son/daughter-of-this-place' so to speak.

And I can't resist thanking you, Ben and Marina, yet again...can't do it often enough...for the fantastic work you have done / are doing: Gracias and hasta luego.

That's all folks! It's Friday and as outlined above the forum is now closed to new posts. Registered members up until now will still be able to check their old private messages for a few days, in case there is any vital info in there you need.

It's sad to have to close down this wonderful community, but I hope the interest in our work will live on via the work we'll be doing at Notes in Spanish and here on the notesfromspain.com blog.

As for the success of this forum, the stats speak for themselves:

Threads: 9,673, Posts: 86,032, Members: 8,024

Amazing! Marina and I aren't stopping work in any way at all, on November 22nd we have a new Notes in Spanish project launching, we'll be revealing more details about that on Monday over at notesinspanish.com - do make sure you are signed up for the newsletter there (via the form on this page) to find out more about that, and to keep learning Spanish with us as we move forward. I'll still be blogging about Spain on the main blog page here too.

Many thanks to you all again!

Saludos from Madrid,

Ben y Marina
