hi,can someone explain to me if i should say he ido a la tienda or he estado a la tienda.Thanks Gary

Both are corrects:

"he ido a la tienda pero estaba cerrada"
"he estado en la tienda y he comprado de todo"

did you understand the nuance?. But in some context you could use both:

"he ido a la tienda a comprar ropa"
"he estado en la tienda comprando ropa"
