how to quote messages

Hello to everyone!

This isn't a question of grammar or language but I thought this might be the right place to ask for technical advice

I am not a pro with forums and I have a problem with quoting messages from other people.I have done it wrong twice.Can anyone explain to me how to proceed, please?

To get here I clicked on

under your post which brings up the message input screen with the quoted message between two sets of square brackets [] ..... [] You can edit the quoted post but don´t touch the bracketed bits.

If you want to put some text in a quote box you can add the start and finish codes yourself - type QUOTE in the first brackets and /QUOTE in the last ones.

It worked! That was very easy in fact and your explanations were very clear. I think I had forgotten to keep the second bracket at the end or something like that...Many thanks again!
