Going to University in Spain

Hello, i'm sure this question has been asked before, but I searched for some threads and couldn't find any. I live in Canada, but I'm Bulgarian so i'm part of the union. I'd like to go to university in Spain, i'm in gr. 11 now.
I'd like to know how universities work there, and where/how I could apply. Also, while I speak a small amount of spanish, which will be substantially better by the time I graduate. Is there a possibility to take my courses in english or learn more spanish there before I begin? Bassically any information given upon the topic will be greatly appreciated.
