NiS Moscas! Competition!

Hi everyone, we were so happy with the wonderful response to the video blogging movement started by Eric earlier this year, that we thought we should really try and promote it as much as possible here in the forums. It is after all a great way to boost your Spanish speaking confidence, and to show us a little bit of the rest of the world!

So, not only have we started a whole new section of the forums for your Spanish video blogs, but we have also started a great new competition!

The NiS Moscas

For the next month, until Friday May 25th, we hope to see a Spanish video blogging frenzy from all over the world. At the end of the month you will help us to pick a winner, the Mosca for the Best Spanish Video Blogger, who will receive a $100 dollar prize (in Amazon gift voucers, iTunes vouchers, or just plain cash!)

What are we looking for? Quality over quantity of course, but consistency of video blogging (e.g. one a week) will also be valued, as well as effort, improvement, and creativity. It's not about who speaks the best Spanish, it's about who has thrown themselves into the Spanish video blogging movement with the most Gusto, Ganas and Animo!

Rules

All entries must be posted here in the Spanish Video Blogs forum.

Please start a new thread for your first entry, though subsequent entries throughout the month (and we hope there will be a few from each of us) can go in the same thread, or in other people's threads as a response to their videos.
If you use youtube, please also add your videos to our Youtube Video blogging group.
Competition deadline: Friday May 25th

Notes

Instructions on how to post your footage in the forum can be found here.
Some of the best entries throughout the month may also be posted on the Notes in Spanish blog.
Feel free to award your own Moscas to each other as the month progresses, e.g. Best use of Cat (DocMolly?!)

I am so excited to see this. I think it is so much fun watching everyone's videos, and I can't wait to see some more. I will be sure to join in the fun. Thanks Ben for the great idea! I can't wait to award funny oscars to people throughout the month.

Careful....Innocently using the name "Oscar" for the NIS award might well be an infringement upon international copywright laws:

or in deference to the Spanish "Goya" awards...

Even though the term "Oscar" is a registered trademark and therefore intellectual property, it is not the same term as "NiSOscars".

I like Moscas. It's a good pun. It gets around the copyright issues. It's not a hell of a mouthful, like NISOscars or some of the other alternatives. It's a funny word (or is it just me that thinks this

). And it's apt - after all, these are kind of fly-on-the-wall documentaries.

VS, your image is wonderful as ever! But they would probably sue us for using the oscar image!!! Any chance of doing something similar with a mosca?!

but one thing's bothering me... if the awards are called the moscas, does that make us the mackademy?
