Default Sharing reading books?

There are often posts about helpful books to read, at various levels, and most of us probably have some books we'll never use again and are always on the lookout for new books at an appropriate level.. I wonder if there is some way of sharing books with each other? Could be that we just offer them free and pay postage etc ourselves - (OK so its a bit radical in these days of flogging everything on ebay etc but simple and mutually beneficial) - or there are probably some easy ways to pay each other if necessary e.g. Paypal which I think only needs an email address? Anyone have thoughts/suggestions about how it might work?

Well you could have a book swap, a member lists all the books they want to swap and anyone interested says I have x, y and z and they send each other the books.

There's already a site in which you can do that:

http://www.anobii.com

You can easily create your book list just searching in the data base by title/author/etc, and you can mark every book for share/not share. You can also rate every book, comment it, etc.

OK here's my short list of books no longer needed, starting with some children's books I started off with and then a few others. I don't really mind if someone just wants to ask for one, gratis, or swap. I like to think I am at an intermediate level now, (though I have days when I can't remember anything at all...!)

Easy Spanish Reader William T Tardy

El Reino del Dragón de Oro Isabel Allende

La Tierra del tiempo perdido José Maria Merino

Los Pazos de Ulloa Emilia Pardo Bazán

La Dama de Urtubi Pío Baroja

When I first started learning,I always seemed to struggle to get books at a reasonable price, and now like you, I have a pile of books that I´m never likely to use again. A friend, who has been struggling with Spanish for years, has finally given up, and handed me a pile of books and CD´s for me to dispose of as I want. I´ll probably end up passing it on to a teacher friend of mine that takes first and second year Spanish. I´m loathe to simply throw any out, they have cost me a fortune! The problem with posting anything is price, it cost so much nowadays.

Nice. Have you seen the Visual Bookshelf Facebook application? It seems to be powered by living social - http://readers.livingsocial.com/entities/leaders

There's another book-swapping site which people might find useful: readitswapit.com Personally I'm addicted and have swapped loads of books so far. The postage UK to UK is only about 70p to 80p in most cases, depending on the size of the book. Of course swapping Uk -Spain would cost more I suppose.

Can anyone recommend me my "first" Spanish novel? It needs to be short and easy please?!! I would love to read Harry Potter in Spanish one day but I don't think I'm that advanced yet!
