Hi to all,
My mom often said that if she could only save one thing, it would be our family photos — though that's not as relevant today in the age of digital photography. Has your home ever caught fire? If so, you probably went the safe route and saved yourself before your stuff. But if your house were burning and you could only save one thing, what would it be? |

My external hard drive. There's months, years of work on that. Everything else can be replaced.

I hope you've got it backed up! Off-site even better! (I'm loving getdropbox.com for my off-site backups!)

Years ago I had thought about this question before and came up with an old-fashioned answer.
I would save my kids' photos and the patchwork quilts I had made in "another time of my life". None of those photos are digital and I thought I needed them. The quilts I had made were to me what my blog is now. While sewing I used to think about different topics, things that are of interest to me, etc. Nowadays we have a blog for that )This must sound grandmotherly to most of you. Nowadays I have a digital camera, three blogs, etc. But if all of that got wiped out, I would not have a worry. I have come to the point in my life that NOTHING would be missed. Not even my kids baby photos, nor my quilts. I would be sad, yes. But that's it. This is freedom. I only care about my family's wellbeing, the rest can go - with God's will. |
