I've been a resident of Madrid for a week now. My family had known for a year and a half prior that we would be moving here, so I had that much time to prepare. My Spanish is VERY rusty, but I'm getting by. Really I think the thing that helped the most was your podcast! I felt like I knew (and loved) the area long before we ever arrived. It's so wonderful to walk around the city and think "Hey! I know this place! Ben talked about it!" I visited El Retiro yesterday and now understand why you enjoy spending your Sunday mornings there. We plan to live out from the city, but for now, I'm enjoying being right in the heart of it. Thank you so much for sharing your experiences and making my transition just a little bit smoother!
