What the hell's been happening here then?

Hi all,

Well, I'm sorry I've been away. I'm fine. All is fine. I just have not found myself as interested in learning Spanish as I ought to have been. This is the way with a lot of things in my life. It tends to come and go: I'm like a child who upon receiving a new toy plays with it for a few minutes and returns to his old teddy. Well, not really like that, but my interest in Spanish reached an ebb. I can't explain it.

Luckily, the ebb has gone away. I am now finding myself interested again. It is amazing that since the last time I was really active was a year ago. And in that time we have seen amazing things develop to help you learn Spanish.

Well, just one thing. But it's a really important thing: Televisión a la Carta!

I've recently been enjoying it so much that my wife (yes, wife!!) cannot stand anything to do with Spain or the Spanish language.

Actually, there is another thing. You can receive Radio Nacional de España on your iPhone. Better than you can receive Radio 1, actually.

So, with this announcement, I shout out that I am back, not knowing if I will be welcomed or ignored for leaving you, like the owner who goes back to his house after his summer holidays to find that his cat has decided to face the corner rather than look at him.

Alan, I could also point out that the very weekend you chose to return to the fold was the weekend when many of the regular posters were away from their computers because they were here in Madrid as part of the third Annual Great Madrid Escape, which officially ended just under an hour ago. Normal service will be resumed as soon as everyone returns home and sits down at their keyboards.
We have had a great weekend and it had been great to put names to faces once more.

What happens anyway, does everyone speak 100% Spanish for the whole thing? Is there a rule?
