That's great for Gore and the others and for the issue of global warming!

Default Nobel Prize/Noble Cause

....and for awarding this years Nobel Peace Prize where it's not only most deserved but, hopefully, will also have the most impact - the Nobel Committee itself deserves a Nobel Prize!

Tu fiel cliente

El siguiente contiene una enlace muy interesante

Dear Margot,
I am deeply honored to receive the Nobel Peace Prize. This award is even more meaningful because I have the honor of sharing it with the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change--the world's pre-eminent scientific body devoted to improving our understanding of the climate crisis--a group whose members have worked tirelessly and selflessly for many years. We face a true planetary emergency. The climate crisis is not a political issue, it is a moral and spiritual challenge to all of humanity. It is also our greatest opportunity to lift global consciousness to a higher level.
My wife, Tipper, and I will donate 100 percent of the proceeds of the award to the Alliance for Climate Protection, a bipartisan non-profit organization that is devoted to changing public opinion in the U.S. and around the world about the urgency of solving the climate crisis.
Thank you,
Al Gore

Hey, I wanted to start a thread on this, but you were first!

Congrats Al Gore, and hopefully the world will wake up now.

Gary, Gary, Gary, are you now doubting the validity of the Nobel Prize?

Al Gore will go down in history as a brilliant Nobel prize winner.
Dick Cheney will go down in history for...

shooting a guy in the face.

Of course I know YOU know, Edith, it's not a competition
(Unfortunately) there's more than enough room for ALL of us TOGETHER to conquer the threat - so great is the need.
So dismaying...soon after posting my messages here yesterday and flush with the elation of the spectacular news...the first 2 people to whom I spoke - the first being an intercambio in Spain - totally discounted Al Gore and the possibility that climate change is anything other than cyclical change. Then he admitted that tho he'd downloaded "Inconvenient Truth" months ago - he'd been unable to find the time or muster the interest to actually watch it.'

Climate change aside, can you imagine if this guy had won the Presidency?

A guy that, if he was president perhaps wouldn't....
  • take an entire month vacation in August and did something about the Al Qaeda attack memo.
  • had no connection to Enron and did something to protect investors
  • have a connection to the war and energy businesses and find it profitable to start one
  • any more?
Perhaps we'd have had no 9/11, no world backlash against the US, no London and Madrid bombings, no Iraq war, fair Free Trade Agreements, reduction in US carbon output, low oil prices - so low that he could raise taxes and instigate universal social health care headed by Ms Clinton.

Is this possible? Is this a future we missed or am I exaggerating?

And maybe it wouldn't take a wheelbarrow full of U.S. dollars to equal one Euro.

At least wheelbarrows, now that they are all made in China, are very cheap.
