Default Do microbreweries exist in spain?

Hi, I'm going to be spending some time in Bilbao this summer and I am a pretty huge fan of beer. I would like to visit some microbreweries in spain to help get an idea of what the different variations of spanish beer are like and so I was wondering first, if microbreweries exist and second which ones are the best? So if there is anyone hanging around the forums that would be able to help me out that would be great. Also if there are any home-brewing enthusiasts here I'd love to talk shop!

Have a look at this thread:

Unless things have changed drastically in the last few years - looks like you might be disappointed.
I remember that a forero named "Cervecero" (whom I haven't seen around in awhile) brewed his own beer etc. - and he's also travelled around Spain a bit - so perhaps you could PM him. I also know he's a Skype user( lives in Milkwaukee), if that's of any help.
Suerte...

ps: Just checked his profile for you...in which he proclaims: "I like to brew my own beer", with a photo of him about to down one of his homebrews. ...looks like he still checks in from time to time.
Also...I just remembered...if you look thru the Videoblogs - you'll find one that he made some time ago in which- if I'm not mistaken - he takes us on a tour of the brewery where he works, in Milwaukee.

In Madrid there are a few bars that brew on site - usually Germanic beers - very nice too!

In the north of Spain there is also a fair bit of cider to try out.
