The idea is to post your best photo or two from the last week or so. It's a good reason to keep trying to take great photos! Post, and comment on others' work (be kind
![]() Update: this thread is dedicated to Edith, a wonderful long-time forum member who sadly passed away in March 2009, and who's beautiful photos of nature fill and inspired this thread. Here's my first, taken this weekend near my parent's home in Oxfordshire, on the banks of the Thames, while on a quick UK visit.
![]() I must have 20 versions of this photo taken over the years, but I love these trees! Last edited by Ben; 27th February 2008 at 09:10 AM. |

Another tree in Mojacar. Can't believe it stays upright!

Beautiful tree! Looks like it should be full of birds singing!

This is obviously not from the last couple weeks, but it's probably one of the best photos I've taken. It's from a wind farm close to my house

You're suffering very slightly from converging verticals, pretty much unavoidable when shooting upwards, but if you correct it, it will take that leaning pole on the right, out of shot.

I haven't taken many photos in the past month. One of the few is this one of "dos playas".

I had to use high-speed photography for this picture:

Yeah thanks for that tip about the verticals Frank. My camera has a facility to correct for perspective and whilst I'd thought it useful for photos of signs etc from below, it never occurred to me to use it for landscapes.

![]() My photography is a bit like my Spanish, I'm no expert at either, not by long way, but I love both, so I'll keep on praticing until I get it right! ![]() ![]() Ben, how's the Canon G9? Have mine now, waiting for a 4Gb card to be delivered before I can really try it. Impressed so far though. ![]() |

All the recent rain we have been having in Andalucia has done wonders for the plants!

Got to play a little with my new Canon G9 in Oxford last weekend. Large versions can be seen on Flickr, here.
![]() I'm proud of the next one for the simple reason that it's a 1 second hand held exposure - took 5 goes, and holding breath like mad! Noise Ninja reduced noise from 1600 asa shot: ![]() Below, the way to the River, near my parents' house. ![]() The next one was taken in Oxford's Natutal History Museum, somewhere I hadn't been since I was about 8, to draw Dinosaurs with my school. Serious nostalgia trip! It's a wonderful buidling - looks like a railway station, and smells of mothballs! ![]() Back soon with pics from Spain! Last edited by Ben; 1st March 2008 at 05:02 PM. |

Stunning photos. How much time do you take in shooting them and how much time do you spend optimizing them on your Mac?
