OK. Last season was a quiet one for this thread but I hope we may just about muster enough interest in a La Liga competition for this season.

These are the teams in la primera división. Just let me know by the end of August the (complete) order in which you think they'll finish the season.

Almería
Athletic
Atlético

Barcelona
Deportivo
Espanyol

Getafe
Hércules
Levante
Málaga
Mallorca
Osasuna
Racing
Real Madrid
Real Sociedad
Sevilla
Sporting
Valencia
Villarreal
Zaragoza

The winner will be the one whose prediction deviates the least from the final positions. For example, if you predict that Sevilla will finish 11th and Valencia 1st and they actually finish 2nd and 3rd, that's a deviation of 9 (for Sevilla) and 2 (for Valencia) = 11 and so on for all 20 teams.

So, predictions please.

That's a lot of working out at the end of the season for you Eldeano if you get a lot of entries. You might end up wishing you'd only asked, "who do you thinks gonna win t'cup"

I don't know if I won, but I got it right...
but the important is not to win, it's to know for oneself that oneself is simply the best..

she knows and me too. It's enough for me.

How are you tad?

why not... here I go.

1- Real Madrid
2 - Sevilla
3 - Valencia
4 - Atlético

5 - Barcelona
6 - Villarreal
7 - Zaragoza
8 - Athletic

9 - Espanyol

10 - Sporting
11 - Mallorca

12 - Deportivo

13 - Almería
14 - Real Sociedad

15 - Osasuna

16 - Racing
17 - Málaga

18 - Levante
19 - Hércules

20 - Getafe

The important thing it's the deviation.
So I think it's not as bad prediction as it seems at first glance.

Well, I hope we have an exciting season and that Eld is working on the computer programme that is going to work out the deviations. Brave man.

Start of the season still blighted by Mr Platini's decision to exclude Mallorca from the Europa League, despite their finishing in the qualifying place. You'd have thought they had suffered enough without that final kick in the teeth. Merci monsieur Platini! Not sure I'll be going to the opening game of the season. Cheapest ticket for the Madrid game is 60 euros. However, that's a lot cheaper than the tickets for the Elton John / Andrea Boccelli concert on September 4th which rack up at a very reasonable 169 euros for the ones on the pitch at San Moix! Surprisingly enough - it's not sold out yet....

1.Real Madrid
2.Barcelona

13.Almería

19. Levante
20.Hércules

Barcelona 5th? Has Nostradamus predicted a plane crash killing the entire squad?

Not at all… it’s only a feeling, not a prediction, of younouguaraminus. And I hope it has nothing to do with planes crashing or something.
But barça has win a lot, a lot too much, in latest times. And the universe’s equilibrium will prevail.
And besides the 5th position is not the end of the world. A bit of humility is always good for the powerful, Real Madrid knows that very well.

That's your second go Eldeano and it's way different from your first that had Almeria champions and Real Zaragoza last.

After Barcelona's 4-0 demolition of Sevilla last night in the Supercopa, I think I might have been a bit rash in going for Madrid as Champions. A certain Mr Messi scored an excellent hat-trick and they looked very impressive.

How true - although I've always thought highly of him (if only he could tackle!).
