Default What's the best way to find housing in Spain(Valencia)?

Hi,

I'll be moving to Valencia in January and I'll be staying a couple of months. I've been trying to find a room to rent there but it has not been easy. Unfortunately I don't speak Spanish (yet) and that makes life much harder for me. I tried using gabinohome.com; I called phone numbers (no one responded to my emails) listed on adds but I have not been able to get in touch with anyone who speaks English. I was wondering if anyone could direct me to a website or search engine that I might have a little more luck with? I'd really appreciate any help I can get.
Hope I hear from someone soon.

Thanks,
Jonny

Thanks Valenciason, unfortunately I don't think I'd be able to afford that. I'm actually still in a student and I will only be graduating in December. I'm looking for something for about 350 euros or under per month. I would be happy to hear some more suggestions if you have any to share. I see you're in Maryland - me too .

Default Hi Jonny

Get in touch with me by PM and I will put the word about for you. Give me details of what you are looking for.
If it is a shared place then it shouldn't be too difficult but on your own at 350 is a bit of a pipedream

Regards
GH

I spent a lot of time looking online, and I found myself googling "alquilar pisos/ habitaciónes en _____ (city)". If you use google.es instead and write your search in Spanish, so much more comes up in the results.

Loquo.es had a number of ads, and so did campusanuncios.com- just make sure you select your city. You might find someone English-speaking on there, but if you don't, you could write in Spanish anyway. The base idea of what you want to say should get through if you use a dictionary . I know it's really intimidating to send e-mails in a language you don't understand well/ at all (I did it too) but it'll get easier over time. You could also ask if they speak English. Or, if you want, feel free to send me a pm and I'll help you out however I can if you need help translating or something. I currently live in Alicante (going to school here), but I'm Canadian.

I think spending 350 euros a month is totally doable if you're willing to share a flat with other people... by yourself, I'm not so sure. I'm just assuming Valencia is more expensive than Alicante, though. I share a 4 bedroom, 2-story flat with 3 other students and it comes to 125 euros/month for me (I just moved to this place, though. My last place, I lived in a house with 7 other people and it was 200/month).

Good luck!
