Close to the coast, you couldn't be any further away! The furtherest point from the coast in UK is only about 71 miles.

Oh my god, thats North of Watford. I'm afraid I can't help you, they have funny ways up there. One reference that may help are the books of James Herriot, a vet posted to Yorkshire in the 1930's. I think it's pretty much the same as that really.

dont forget the essentials for a one night stopover...

14 pints strong lager
14 shots
Kebab
Kiss me quick hat
Inflatable sheep
A months salary...

Imagine a whole town like the bar in the opening sequence of the first Star wars Film.

If you go in august the main language spoken will be Glaswegian
(Sounds bit like Clingon but the people who speak it can be more dangerous when crossed)

This is not a slur its a statement of fact

The Glaswegian accent is virtually unintelligable to us southerners and they are a fierce breed, especially the women, well the ones /I've met in Blackpool are...

phasers on stun wont hack it, this is a photon torpedo gig with full shields and a protective force field.

Avoid the Tower Lounge at all costs, the dilithium crystals wont take it, Captain - and Scotty should know

Last year I read a book that i really enjoyed, I think it was called 'Notes from a small island'. Have any of you Brits read this? If so how accurate was it? It's a little bit dated but it really gave me a feel for being in England.
