Least said about my predictions yesterday the better. However, whatever the reasons he may have had (and he certainly wasn't prepared to discuss it at the press conference), I thought it unforgivable of the French manager not to shake the hand of his South African counterpart at the end of their game.
South Africa were the host nation and as both sides were leaving the competition, he shamed the whole of France. Their campaign has been a fiasco from start to finish and I hope the competion will be all the better for their absence.

Slovenia 1 - England 3
USA 2 - Algeria 1
Australia 0 - Serbia 1
Ghana 1 - Germany 2

I suppose the outcome of Mexico - Uruguay depends on how much Mexico are bothered about playing probable group B winners Argentina in the next round.
Didn't see the game but glad to see both sides went through, and more importantly appear to have taken it seriously

I'm very tempted to predict a Slovenia win to guarantee victory for England but here I go:

England 2 Slovenia 1
USA 2 Algeria 1

Germany 2 Ghana 0
Serbia 1 Australia 0

I don't share your optimism.
Slovenia 1 - 1 England
USA 2 - 0 Algeria
Australia 0 - 1 Serbia
Ghana 0 - 2 Germany

Well isn't life just fantastic !! All is right with the world - we managed to crawl over the finishing line second in the most ordinary group in the whole competition. Well done boys !

Don't worry - you'll soon be back in your overpriced pads in Dubai or cruising round Ibiza on your mates' boats. Don't see you playing much football after Sunday 5pm!

For today:

Paraguay 2 - New Zealand 0
Slovakia 0 - Italy 1
Denmark 2 - Japan 1
Cameroon 0 - Holland 2

I am, of course, extremely pleased, but remain unconvinced that England will progress any further - and I don't even reckon Germany are all that good.

Paraguay 1 - 1 New Zealand
Slovakia 0 - 2 Italy
Denmark 0 - 1 Japan
Cameroon 1 - 3 Holland

Logged on too late to predict afternoon Kick offs (which I would obviously have called correctly on current form....)

Tonight it will be:

Chile 1 - Spain 2
Switzerland 0 - Honduras 1

Really hope Honduras can beat Switzerland as I would like both Chile & Spain to progress through. Could be a nailbiting evening in Santiago.

I actually got one spot on!!! Good old Uruguay.

Anyway, with no special thanks to Landon Donovan, his goal now means that I will be watching England (hopefully) continue to smash the convicts in the 3rd ODI at Old Trafford when our average, overpaid and overblown players take to the field against Germany. I'll still be watching on my iPod but it's not quite the same. But it does means that when we're knocked out there's still something to enjoy for the rest of the day.

Germany 2 - 1 England
Argentina 1 -1 Mexico (Mexico win it on penalties)

Germany 1 - England 2 AET
Argentina 2 - Mexico 1

Yes but you cheated. Uruguay had already scored when you posted your prediction. Does your bookie not change the odds when a team scores?

England 2 Germany 1

Argentina 2 Mexico 0

Sozzled nicely in the Manchester sunshine. Everyone was aware of what was going on in South Africa and, for our group at least, delighted not having to suffer further by watching it. Tighter finish to our game after cruising for most of it.

Netherlands 1 - 0 Slovakia
Brazil 3 - 2 Chile
