Default Pancake tossing

Are there any other ex-pats out there tossing pancakes today?

Before you do, you might like to read this BBC News article. I'm wondering what the risks actually are that they need assessed...

- you might get hit by a frying pan
- you might have a pancake land on you
- the pancake mix might not be fresh
- the egg might have salmonella
...
- you might fall over

Is that what they mean?

These stupid rules invented by Health and Safety "advisors" have made a joke of what should be a serious subject.

Within my company it now takes three people to change a lightbulb; one to doing the changing from the top of a ladder, one to hold the ladder and one to watch just in case!

H and S was introduced into the oil industry a decade ago. Since then accidents have increased. Shell, the company that was instrumental in their introduction, is now on record of saying the measures have gone too far and are inhibiting the work place.

I can't believe it took them so long. All that oil around must have made things very slippery!

There's another revenue source for the oil companies in there somewhere... a bit of oil and a flat-sole shoes are all that is needed... Environmentally friendly too, none of it needs to be burned.
