Try installing a couple of extentsions, like Foxy Tunes (so you can control your music from in the browser) and the Spanish dictionary (instant spell check while writing forum posts - the Eglish one is useful too!) - might help convince you! More here too...
.... yup really useful

Couple more add-ons for Firefox I find really useful & stable
Cooliris Previews - allows you to see a link by putting mouse over a small block beside the URL / link without leaving your current page. 2.3.9 version for FFox
Firefly - turns a tab into a file explorer
Image Zoom - adds a useful facility that IE has for the whole page. Firefox only allows zoom for the text (Ctrl and mouse wheel) Right click and mouse wheel on a picture to zoom.
Reminder Fox - brings up a reminder for birthdays or anything else you set it for.
ImTranslator - highlight any text, right click and select to get a translation in a separate box
Scrapbook - allows you to quickly save contents of a page or a link for future use
Be wary when browsing through the add-ons that they support your version of Firefox as some of them take a while to issue updates. CNET (download.com) also have an upgrade watcher service that alerts you when new versions of add-ons appear.

On the new NIS home page, I would find it useful to have displayed:

- The title of the latest blog entry
- The titles of each of the most recent advanced/intermediate/beginners podcasts

From NIS, it would be nice to be able to click straight through to the forum (as of old) - even if it is on the 'sister' site.

..y la nueva podcast de principiantes es fenomenal!!

Thanks for the feedback Jules, I will definitely try and sort some of these things when we are back from our hols in July. I agree that the features you suggest would make the new homepage a bit more dinamic. The reason the forum link goes to the intermediate page at the moment is that a couple of people had complained that they were confused by the difference between the two sites and I think this helps distinguish them a little. And I'm glad you like the new podcast!

And as Jules brought up the matter of links, there is still no link to Notes From Madrid.

Yes, I agree that would be useful too.

Richard, I hope you are getting your operatic voice in tune for a visit to El Cisne Azul next time you are in Madrid.

Yes, you are right, shocking - another one for the list when we get back - NFS.com needs the next overhaul.

Well maybe the same format as NIS! I must confess to having the forum set up as a "home page" and therefore only remember to go to the NFS blog every few days, when doing it the other way round would probably make more sense

Today I got a call from a school that needed a teacher for the day. Most times the schools I work with have students that exhibit 'challenging' behaviour. I packed my whip and my chair and set off.

As it turned out was a really lovely place, which was somewhat unnerving - this turned surreal when after lunch when the students came in, sat down, got out their sewing and proceded to sing their way through the Mikado!

And then you woke up and realised you had a real school to go to.

Part one of this is done. The front page of nis now displays the latest 2 blog posts under 'recent updates' on the right.

Looks good. Ben, do you see NIS (podcasts and transcripts) in iTunesU in the future?
