Been up in the hills and vales (cherries now on sale in Val de Alcála )
This is a striking plant


and these beehives I photographed using the zoom!!! There were a lot of bees around & I bet the honey from the wild flowers will be something special.

Someone, who knows about plants, told us these are what we once called Giant Hog weed. Remember the problems they caused in the British countryside many years ago? They are so nice to look we could not believe it.

I've seen those growing in Gloucestershire and I think these are a different plant. They're not as large to start with. When I first saw them I thought they were dill but they have a serrated flat leaf (which I rubbed to see if it had a smell, without ill effect)
They certainly make an impressive sight though, standing above the other vegetation with a really bright yellow flower head.
